Good-noos Me!

My mother never watches the news.Reason: It makes her feel depressed. One gets the point - the news is simply a list of "what went wrong today", isn't it?

But then, nowadays the news bulletins have sections to provide comic relief to viewers:

Kalaignar T.V's news reader routinely reads out Karunanidhi's attempts at poetry. His gags and alliterations cannot fail to bring a smile to even the gravest viewer.

Jaya T.V features Jaya Madam's tongue-lashing at "minority D.M.K Govt's" incompetence.

And, even if these two do not offer entertainment in a particular day, there is always Subramaniam Swamy!

And, even if Swamy decides to remove his foot from his mouth one day, one must not lose hope: You still have the Chennai lawyers - Chennai city's chief comedians!

Coming back to the point, it is good that the news bulletin lists out the bad news. I mean to say, you do feel bad when you hear that there was a house break in Annanagar today. But then, how will you feel, when the news item reads : "Zero house breaks in Annanagar today"?

So, when bad things make news, it is actually good. When good things start making news, that is when things are bad!
