Lay-off fever!

The most precarious careers now are of those in IT. My husband gets atleast one "Ive been jettisoned" mail every week from fellow sufferers.
What bothered me most was a news clipping I saw last month - Father laid off, mum kills child and ends her life!

Forget the IT sector, forget economics.. every human life goes through these cycles of peak and trough. And as the tamil saying goes "30 varusham vazhdhavanum illa, 30 varusham thaazhthavanum illa" .

I guess as life gets more and more comfortable, people are losing their backbone.

Trouble has to bring out your strengths. My grandma never went to a BSchool and knew nothing of boom and recession. She was 20 when she was widowed and had 6 children to look after.
She simply decided to work and bring up her children. She started working as a daily wage labourer and did she bring them up!!
All 6 of them are highly educated and well settled now in India and abroad.
Hats off to you Indra paati!! You should teach a thing or two to these IT geeks!
